  1. Hey
I just spent a hell of alot of cash on a really good home theatre setup and i am definately a audiophile....now i enjoy ripping DVD's but i hate the fact that my video looks good but i cant retain that amazing Dolby Digital 5.1!
Cant i just add the AC3 stream to the video file??
Would that not retain 5.1 i know it takes up alot of space but is this possible?
Even if its unlikely my stand-alone player (Pioneer DV344)will play it is it possible?
    Thanx

  4. AC3 muxed with an mpeg-2 video file is essentially a mini-DVD. You can try that and pray it works on your DVD player. Otherwise you're going to be spending "a hell of alot of cash on" some really good DVDs for your "really good home theatre setup."
