@ poisondeathray
Thanks for quick response.
As you said "I think AC3 640kbps isn't DVD compliant", Thanks for your inputs.
i will down-mix to 448kbps to make it fully compliant.
is it possible to downmix DTS? coz @ 1534kbps DTS audio file is so hugh, or i may drop idea to retain DTS. -

You can make an out of spec dvd but the chances of it - a - being authored at all with any program - and -b- being able to be played on any dvd player are slim to none. It might get authored out of spec on some program but you'll be hard pressed to find a real dvd player that would play the audio at all.
You can probably get away with true hd dolby digital with avchd. But as far as i know dts in any form (hd or sd) is not allowed in avchd. Again you might be able to play dts in avchd on some players but it is not a guarantee it will work.
If I may ask why are you hell-bent on retaining the audio if you are willing to sacrifice the video quality?
If you are going to the trouble of making a dvd at all you are already sacrificing quality. You should accept the limits of the dvd format and downconvert the audio as is required per the specs.
The other alternative is to get a different playback environment.
How about retaining the hd video and hd audio into an mkv format and using something like the wdtv media player? Than it can be passed on without sacrificing anything (although hd audio doesn't work over fiber optic but should be retained via hdmi).
Edit - (bonie81) - is it possible to downmix DTS?
I do believe it is. However you have to have a dts encoder to do it. They are not freeware and are not cheap. Best to just use the dolby digital to save space and money.Donatello - The Shredder? Michelangelo - Maybe all that hardware is for making coleslaw?
