  1. I have a small video I just put together in Adobe Premiere with the DV Storm. I imported avi's from Flash and Psd's from photoshop into the video for stills and animations. The problem i have is that the video looks prefect and in preportion on the video monitor, but when I author it to dvd the avi's and images are streched and out of preportion. What am I doing wrong?

    Thanks,
    Mike

Just a guess, but were your psd's 4:1 aspect ratio(720x540) when you imported into Premiere? How about Your output setting, 16:9 or 4:1?

Try playing the mpg on Powerdvd in full screen mode to see if aspect ratio is correct.

  4. My psd's and avi's were at 720x480 when I imported them into premiere. They look fine on screen and on the video monitor, so why would they be out of whack when I convert them into a mpeg? I used 4:3 when exporting out of premiere. I tried the dvd full screen on my tv and it's still streched. Are you suppose to design graphics to 720x540 when importing into a 720x480 project in premiere or other editing software?
    Thanks for the help!

I had the same problem on a DVD I made. I went to the setup menu on my DVD, on the display options, I tried all the available displays (wide, pan & scan, 4:3 wide, etc.) until the right display was found.
    Hello.

  6. Only my graphics files seem to be messed up. The video I captured is fine. Even when I import the mpeg file into my dvd authoring program and view it, it's streched. There isn't any settings on my dvd player that I can find that will strech the screen and there has to be a way for this to work without having to adjust the dvd play to a format that's not the same as the authored dvd.

If you want to put graphics in video and want to keep them from getting distorted, they need to be at a 4x3 ratio. Adobe rcomends 720x540 or 720x534 for NTSC DV. If you use Photoshop, click File New. There will be presets you can use for video. I usually use 720x534 NTSC DV 72 dpi.
