Im backing up Ice Age on dvd. I open it up in smartripper and its time to choose which title to rip. I want to rip the widescreen version. Since this disk has both widescreen and pan and scan (yuck), I want the widescreen. There are 2 titles that are obviously the movie and one is Full Frame and one is Widescreen, but I cannot tell the 2 apart. One of them is slightly larger than the other (3485 mb (now called A) vs. 3453 mb (now called B)) Title A has a 16x9 aspect ratio, but the display mode is pan and scan. Title B has an aspect ratio of 4:3 and the display mode is not specified. Niether are letterboxed (according to smartripper). Which one do I want to rip? Thank you very much.

  2. The whole point of 16:9 is that the DVD player can pan&scan for you if you got a 4:3 TV, or with the same TV, letterbox it. BUT, if you have a 16:9 tv, it will do nothing to the video and just play it "as is".
