ATI RADEON ALL IN WONDER 9700 PRO NOT TUNNING ANALOG!

I just bought this card tonight, I have 2.8 ghz P4 HT 800 MHZ FSB, DUAL DDR 400 512 MB, SOYO SY-P4I865PE PLUS DRAGON 2 MOTHERBOARD, and this RADEON...this thing is NOT tunning in my cable channels...I have TIME WARNER cable out of COLUMBUS, OHIO and have the coax running straight into my card...I cannot figure this problem out PLEASE HELP! ...I used the scart card and got my XBOX to work on my MONITOR but the ANALOG TUNNER just will not work on the card...all i get is BLACK AND GREY lines ALLLLLL down the TV DIALOG BOX HORIZONTALLY....what gives here? This is so annoying ...Plz advise..

Well, I love ATI card too, but this was too good to respond. Think the ATI AIW Radeons cost a lot? Go check out a Matrox RTX100 or a Canopus DVstorm with breakout box AND the MPEG2 hardware card. You enter the 4-digit zone on prices.

About the troubles from the newbie... he needs to answer the questions. I have a feeling he's trying to put digital cable into his card, and that won't work with ANY card.

My bad maybe we got off to the wrong foot...I just noticed that you werent calling my stuff junk, I noticed that you have that saying on all posts..."REMEMBER blah blah QUIT BUYING JUNK" I thought u meant me in specific...sorry...anyway no its not digital..my old AVERMEDIA card could decode it ...its standard cable..

also...the wierd thing is that i am getting perfect stero sound..but the video is just horizontal grey and black and white bars rippling down the dialog tv box...wierd huh?

The drivers do not suck and if you wish to use an inferior product made by Nvidia, by all means go ahead. I have had nothing but great things to say about my AIW 9700 Pro. Learn to use what you have before you start making criticisms. It sounds to me that if your having trouble with e ATI drivers that your not very computer inclined.

My ATI AIW 9700 Pro works just fine with my digital cable service. His problem has nothing to with analog or digital cable service.

I'm not sure about this as I've only got an ATI AIW Radeon 7500, but the fact that you are getting perfect sound gives a clue. The tuner is obviously tuning into the signals but they are not being displayed properly. Have you set the video format correctly? If you are looking at an NTSC signal and the card is set for PAL or SECAM, you will get sound but no picture. This assumes that a US version card has the options. The European AIW cards are multistandard (to deal with all the different standards in different countries), maybe the US version isn't.

The fact that you've got sound means you aren't far from cracking the problem.
