I was wondering which paper type people use for Printing cd/dvds with the Epson 900. I find that with the paper type set at cd/dvd the the color prints faded (i use best photo setting) especially the blacks. However when it is set to regular paper the color prints correctly however I am worried about over inking the dvd.

I ran into this. It is PURPOSELY trying to be light on the ink. Here is another way to make it better.
Select BEST PHOTO
Set the selector 2 notches to DARKER
Set Photo Enhance and then advanced, VIVID
Comes out much deeper and closer to photo quality WITHOUT overinking.
I am sure your way works well, just be cautious about solid dark fields that might over ink.
