Okay, there are a total of 24 episodes over four discs. Looks like about 7 on the first 3 then the last one has a few plus the extras. I am not interested in the extras for this backup so I figure I can fit 6 per disk with some minor transcoding (DVDShrink). I have read some tutorials on putting individual VOBs in a folder, renaming them, and using IFOEdit.
This seems to work but all of the episodes are then in one title set. Since I am not taking the time to make a menu I would like to use the title and chapter functionality of my DVD player to distinguish the different episodes. How do I do this? I would like there to be 6 titles per disk, and of course the chapters for each.
Thanks in advance.

Umm, I don't think I'd do what you're trying to do.
If it were me, I would use DVDShrink and keep all the menus/etcs but just change the episodes you don't want on that disk to still pictures. This way you can navigate easily using the original menus and no fuss or bother about editing (this process is *extremely* fast and easy -- it's what I use for all my episode disks to keep 100% quality. Obviously you can still shrink down episodes if quality is not your top priority).
The one and only drawback to this method is you will have menu choices that lead to only still images, but I don't see that as a particular big deal."Like a knife, he cuts through life, like every day's his last" -- Mr. Kiss Kiss Bang Bang -
Thanks for the reply. I had thought of doing what you suggest but that forces me to use double the number of discs. While this is not particular bad, I noticed that I can get 6 episodes per disc with level 2 on DVDShrink. This would allow me to use only 4 discs instead of 8. The quality difference is not much since this series doesn't have the greatest quality anyway.
Anyone know how to do what I asked in the original post?
