Ok, the deal is I have to use Nero for burning everything because it is the only burning software out right now that will support my drive (Yamaha 2200E 20x10x40x). It seems that every Dominion Divx Release that I have is over 700mb, usually an average of 734mb instead. Why they make their divx this big I do not know. Now last time I checked Divx's aren't burnt according to time, they are all about space. So tell me, how am I supposed to burn 734mb onto an 80min CD using Nero? Is there a function I'm not seeing or am I doing something wrong, please help!

  2. An "80 min" audio CD will hold 800 Mb of MPEG data . . .check out some of the tutorials on this site like: http://www.vcdhelp.com/neroxvcd.htm

It's because the CD is a different type - more space for data, less for error compensation, I think . .

I know but I'm not trying to burn as a VCD though. because VCD will only do MPG if im not mistaking and that is lower quality than DiVX (AVI).

  4. the only thing you can do in this case is to check out those 90+ minute cdrs. Your burner might support them, its worth looking into. Do a search in the forum for 99 minute cdrs, there was a link to a site on one of them. Here's a question, have you tried to ZIP the file? It might just shrink it enough to fit on your disk

stumps dont go by what windows reports for the size when you highlight the file. right click on it and look at its properties. You will see that the actual filesize is smaller, probably alot closer to 700MB. It will probably fit fine on an 80min cdr, at the most you will have to overburn just a little bit. Have you tried burning it? just drag it into nero and see what it does.

I think I figured out what the problem is. Nero doesn't recognize that I have an 80 minute cd in. How can I get Nero to burn 80 min CD's?

Have you tried a few different 80 minute CD's? Are you sure your CD-R likes 80 minute CD-R's? Have you tried other software? What does CDRIdentifier say about these CD-R's?

What is CDRIdentifier? Hey do you guys think it would be safe to try burning with CDRWIN even though my drive is not yet supported in it yet? I can just burn at 16x.
