I've got a PAL source DVD how can I convert that over to NTSC while keep the AC3 5.1 audio.
So far I've tried putting it through DVD2AVI to get the d2v and ac3 file. I run the d2v through TMPGEnc to convert to NTSC and then I tried the ac3 audio through BeSweet to convert the audio from the 25 -> 29.97
The problem I have is at the end they both don't match up time while.
The video and audio time length don't match up.
Thanks

The only way I know to do this using conventional means, is to extract 5 distinct wav files (one for each channel). I think BeSweet and BeSweet GUI has a tool for this. Each WAV would then need to be converted from PAL to NTSC (again, via BeSweet), and then converted back to 5.1AC3 (BeSweet). The video should be slowed down by 1fps using any method you prefer. The AC3 would be multiplexed into the finished MPEG.
If you don't want to go through the work, you can always use Xesdeeni's 25 to 29.97 conversion method. This method uses a different sort of telecine to convert to that framerate, so no audio conversion is necessary.

3.) If you convert PAL (25fps) to NTSC (29.97fps) then the original AC-3 should match. Just run the original through a program called "AC-3 Delay Corrector" so that your delay value is "0" but of course if the original AC-3 already has a delay value of "0" then there is no need to do that step. I think I downloaded AC-3 Delay Corrector from the DOOM9 website.

P.S.
If you will be using Xesdeeni's method of 25i PAL DVD to 29.97i NTSC DVD make sure to delete the part about "convert to RGB" if you use RGB in DVD2AVI (it's the way I do it). Also this method will work with a progressive 25p PAL DVD source but according to Xesdeeni you can omit all references of the smoothdeinterlacer from your AVS script."The eyes are the first thing that you have to destroy ... because they have seen too many bad things" - Lucio Fulci
