  1. A lot of people recommend creating an ISO image and then burning it with DVDDecrypter. Why this method is better than other methods where you simply burn VIDEO_TS and AUDIO_TS folders to a blank disk using RMN (Nero, PrimoDVD, etc.)? Or is it better?

it's not necessarily better, it's just the only method I know that only uses freeware tools.

I generally only burn from Decrypter if I'm ripping a dvd-5... if I author myself or have to process with DVD2One, I use Nero.

  3. Ok, I think I combined two separate issues in one question. Let me try to rephrase my question:

    (1) Is it better (and, if yes, why) to create and ISO image rather than simply burning VIDEO_TS and AUDIO_TS folders

    (2) What software is the best at burning video ISO images to a blank DVD disk? (Nero - latest vesrion, DVDecrypter, other)

  4. As far as burning ISO's seems like Decrypter does a good job burning ISO's where as other apps like Alcohol tend to screw it up. I had a problem burning a DVD a few weeks ago on alcohol the finished dvd had problems and kept on glitching in the main menu. Someone on here recommended using Decrypter and it did the job great no problems. I always like to have a look at the image before burning so I mount the ISO on a virtual drive using alcohol. Of course u can do the same with the VIDEO TS files in powerdvd.

  5. 1) I think it's for compability or people just have lots of free time.
    2) Whatever works for you -- that's the best...

My personal experience... I use PrimoDVD to burn ISO, make DVDs, etc. I had a little problem with DVD Decrypter where it would only burn one DVD then the next one would fail... had to reboot and do one disc per reboot so I moved to PrimoDVD, and it's all good...
