Does anyone have problems with VCDEasy after they click the "Load file into window player" button on the Chapters tab when doing an SVCD.
This would be done if someone wanted to make particular chapter points whilst veiwing the mpeg2 file or when they want still pics generated automatically for each chapter entry point already chosen.

When I load the mpeg2 file into the player the audio starts playing but no picture is shown. The pause and play buttons control the audio but all other buttons close VCDEasy.

    Anyone else experienced this?

  2. I have had this happen before. If you use TMPGenc to encode, under the "system" tab there are settings for different formats you can choose. There are 2 for MPEG 2. One is MPEG 2 Program (or similar) and the other is for MPEG 2 SVCD. You have to encode your video as SVCD or when you load it into VCDeasy and try to pick chapters it will crash.
You can either multiplex your file as an SVCD MPEG 2 or re-encode it as SVCD.

I always choose the MPEG2 SVCD format.

  4. Does the mpg play in Media Player? I think VCDEasy uses Media Player to show the mpg in the chapters window. If Media Player can't play the file most likely it won't in VCDEasy. You might need an mpg2 codec for windows to use.

Personally I get lousy playback when use the scrub bar in the chapters window. The playback locks up after I use it. (that's svcd mpeg2 as well)
    Happy to be here.

Win Media Player has big problems too.
When I tell a MPEG2 to open in WMP the message screen down the bottom of WMP says Downloading Codec. After a few secs it says Error downloading Codec but the clip starts to play. It's when you try to use FF/REW buttons or the slider that this appears and playback stops.

  6. The reason WMP wont play it is because the header is screwed up. Fix the header and it should play fine.
