I'm having problems with my cd writer. I installed a backup game the other night and copied the no-cd crack (after a bit of trial and error) - I'm a newbie to cracks. Game played fine. Tried to install a few more backups but nothing happened. Even stopped playing original games. Still plays audio cd's. I'm going to try a cleaning disk when I get home tonight. If that doesn't sort the problem out I suppose I'll have to buy a new writer. Question is shall I get another cd writer or should I upgrade to a dvd writer? Currently use the cd writer for burning d/l music and movies and playing games. Cost is an issue as I'm not particularly flush at the moment. Is the quality of encoded dvd's that much superior to svcd's to justify getting a dvd writer?
