  1. I have a dvd that has a motion menu that works as follows:

when you insert the disc, there are some text navigation options over the looping background motion (as expected).

Now lets say you select an option such as "special features", now it goes to a different motion background with new text options...standard stuff right.

The trick is..it turns out that each individual motion menu is actually one section of an overall clip - they are not individual files. What it appears to be doing is playing lets say from one chapter marker to the next (lets say 1 & 2) then looping until you make a selection, then it loops between those corresponding markers (lets say selecting "special features" makes it loop between 5 & 6).

If you actually grasp what I'm getting at, what I want to know is, what application allows this? To tell it to play up until a marker, then loop until a selection is made?

  2. DVD Maestro and Scenartist can do this. If you think about it there's no logically reason to do this rather then make several menus (prehaps there's less of a pause between switchs???). Neither program is all that cheap
