  1. If I have two 700 Mb AVI files that I want to burn as SVCD, thats going to take up four cd's right??

Could i cut it down to two disks without messing up the quality???

  2. I have a couple of questions about the files:

    1) What kind of audio do the files have? Usually a two part avi has ac3 audio. Does yours?

    2) How long are each file in minutes? Because the more time that you try to fit onto a svcd the more you have to reduce the bitrate of the video to make it fit. And A lower bitrate CAN cause you to have a lesser quality output video.

  3. I got the following from Gspot on File # 1
694 MB (or 711,612 KB or 728,690,688 bytes)

    x,y:640x352 (1.818:1) [~11:6]

    Audio:

    0x0055(MP3) ID'd as MPEG-1 Layer 3

  4. Sure I would try encoding each avi as a mpg. You might want to use an external audio encoder in TMPG because you will need to change the audio to 44100 hz for svcd. TMPG will do that for you but its not very good at it. And set the motion search precision to the highest possible setting. It will take longer but I think Its worth it.
