    My new Samsung sm 348B combo writer is reading my blank cd that is 700 meg to 580 meg. Does anyone know why? I did a firmware upgrade and since then it is reading the blank cd wrong. Help! I just bought this thing!!!!

    Simple! Just write back the original firmware that you backed up before writing the upgrade.

    Sorry - I was being sarcastic, but most firmware upgrade apps (at least those I've used) reads out the original firmware to one or two files before writing the new. To roll back, you simply run the upgrade app again, but select the backup copy instead. Now, if you are like me, you skip the backup, or delete it, or lose it, or...
