JVC - Errors at the end Speed 2.4x Cost £2.50

    DVD -R
White Label - wouldnt finalise Speed 1x Cost £0.75
Bulkpaq GP - wouldnt recognise Speed 1x Cost £1.00
Datawrite - wouldnt recognise Speed 1x Cost £0.90

and someone said that all his datawrite brands worked 100%...

They work ok, but not @ 4x (Well, might work 4x with 1.0d firmware). I hava had only two of them for testing purpose.

With firmware 1.0f the burn started 4x but dropped to 2x after a while.
With firmware 2.0f the burn started 2x.

Didn't notice any playback problems with my Philips DVD player (but didn't have time to watch it all the way through). I will get more of these this week, so I will try writing 4x with different firmwares.

  6. I havent tryed the red version yet but tempted, I am using f version and have no problems using the datawrite yellows 1x or the grey 2x versions using recordnow dx that came with the drive there the ones I only buy now as reluctant to try anything else. The only problems I have sometimes when doing copy to copy they bomb out now and again at 95 percent, but may have found a way round that by not using the copy to copy in the recordnow menu use the add data method and select the files from you dvd-rom reader. Anyway I am more than happy with 2x datawrite grey discs 30mins done about 30 odd discs with them now.

  8. I am having no probs with the reds in a 105, but I presume the Sony is a bit different. Shame really, cos <£1 a blank is quite good for 4x.
