  1. Hi,

I just finished using Ulead VideoStudio 7 to capture a VHS home movie I had, then I used TMPGEnc DVD Author to convert to a DVD format to burn to a DVD. Question...is there a easier way to go through and cut out the bad parts of the tape. The part were I turned off the camera inbetween starting and stopping while taping. It seem to take along time just fast forwarding though the movie cutting them out using TMPGEnc DVD Author. Just curious if this is the only way or a faster way?

    Thanks!

If I understand you correctly you cut and edited in TMPGenc. If that is the case, next time why not just cut and edit inside VideoStudio, before you send it to TMPGenc?

  3. Well Im a newbie at this and I guess I should of took more time to learn to edit/cut within VideoStudio but didnt. I knew how to do so in TMPGEnc DVD Author so I just opend my previous Mpeg file and edit it with TMPGEnc DVD Author. I'll mess with it more using VideoStudio then either learn how to add chapters as well using VideoStudio. Its just using TMPGEnc DVD Author seems so east to use.

    Thanks!

You can open the file in Virtualdub, delete the parts you don't want and frameserve into TMPGEnc to encode.

  5. Use the new "Extract" tool in VideoStudio 7 to "Mark In" & "Mark Out" the pieces of the video that you want to keep, and those you don't. You can select multiple sections of the video at a time.

That really is one of the coolest new features that VS7 offers...Before (with VS6 and earlier), your only option was to use their "Trim Bars" which are still there today. Unfortunately, the "Trim Bars" only allow you to work with one piece of the video at a time.
