  1. Stoopid question time.

When I play the ripped vob files on my PC, the quality is great, but after using DVD2AVI and encoding with TMPGenc, with various setting suggestions from this forum, I still get lots of pixelation and blocks. Any way to make the encoded file same size as vob files to keep quality? I'm not an expert at this, but would assume if a 4GB movie is made into a 1GB mpg, it obviously cannot have the same quality??

I have seen lots of posts where ppl are trying to fit movie on 1 or 2 cds. Is it possible to get a better quality VCD by creating a copy that would take 4-5 vcds? If so, what settings should I use on TMPGenc to create the mpg?

Is it possible I have a bad codec?

I appreciate your suggestions to help me until I get a DVD burner (Soon I hope ! !).

  2. Try making a svcd or a xsvcd.

  3. Try using templates of KVCD.
You can increase the videobitrate and have high quality vcd.
I have high quality vcd on 1 cd.
