I saw where I could get Pinnacle's Instant Copy for $24.00 ($44.00 with free shipping and $20 rebate) at http://www.atomicpark.com/productList.aspx?prodInfoId=9785&RefID=6 I'm currently using DVD Decryptor, IfoEdit and RecordNow Combination to backup my DVD collection. I was just wondering what people's experiences (bad and good) were with using IC.

  2. I've used it an liked it until I got my hands on DVDShrink. DVDShrink does the job in about 1/4 the time and it's free!

InstantCopy worked fine for me, never had any problems. But given the option of a free program that only takes about 30 minutes versus a few hours, well, it wasn't hard to decide.

  4. For $20.00, buy it. I use it although not as often as I used to since I have started doing most of my backups with CCE. However, for the "one click wonders", Instant Copy and DVD95Copy are leading the pack.

Granted DVDShrink has a lot of fanboys but mainly because it's free. It's a transcoder just like DVD2One, DVD95Copy, DVDXCopy Xpress, etc. I believe Instant Copy actually reencodes. Once they get the disk sizing bug with Instant Copy sorted out, it's going to be very tough to beat with anything that doesnt use CCE.

Be advised it seem pretty "ifee" on ever receiving this now infamous 20.00 rebate. I know no one who has received his or hers. I hope I'm wrong but it looks like the old Pinnacle bait and switch to me. I know I did not get mine and they say they never got it even though I sent it in right away [about 3 months ago now] Here is a links to see what I mean. AND MANY MORE AROUND.

I guess I'm lucky, it looks like I'm going to get my $20.00 rebate. It took them a month to process my rebate and give me this acknowlegement and it looks like it'll take another 2 months to get the acutal rebate. But I'm happy I'm getting it.
