This question will probably come up more and more if folks really buy into DVD recorders.
My problem is this. With the DMR-E30, chapters are set every 3-6 minutes (ugh). I would like to have chapter points at major scene changes and a couple or so between these.
I see where IfoEdit can detect chapter points, but I have yet to see any guides on actually editing chapter points (adding, deleting, moving).
Is such a thing possible? I guess my actual question would be: are chapter points dictated by the *.ifo or are they within the actual *.vobs and the *.ifo is merely "informational"?

Well, after much reading of posts & guides & such, I finally figured this one out (I think). The only way to move chapters would be to reauthor the file. I was hoping for a more direct approach of manipulating VOBs and IFOs without having to reencode.
Maybe someday a DVDShrink-like tool will come along, with the ability to manipulate chapter points along with removing extras and shrinking-to-fit.
One can dream...
