Hi all. Last night and this evening I did my research on how to do a proper vcd. After searching all the various posts from how to compensate for overscan to extracting audio using virtualdub, then using tmpgenc to combine both. I do, however, have a couple of questions.
When using tmpgenc, does it matter if the output file is in .mpg format? (.avi as input and .mpg as output). When I viewed both the original (.avi) file and output file (.mpg), the .mpg file wasn't as crisp as the .avi file (just fyi, I'm doing a 23 min Anime clip).
Secondly: As this clip has subtitles, I had to compensate for overscan going from the original NTSC 352x240 and making 326x224. By doing this, I could read the subtitles, but it was a bit hard to make out what the words were. Did the conversion from .avi to .mpg cause this or the resizing?
Any help with this issue is greatly appreciated!
