pinnacle 8 locking up!!

hi...using pinnacle 8 with windows xp

have got my movie in the time line ready to produce it only thing leftto do is add some transitions......when i try to introduce or move a transition clip though fx...the computer freezes in the wait mode and i can only get it started again by...ctrl alt delete mode....any ideas please k

What version of Studio are you on? You can download an update (official or beta) off the Pinnacle Website which has greatly improved stablility of the program on my machine.
