Hi all,
I want to see if this is possible or not. I am thinking of buying DVD menu studio. Looks pretty cool. I am backing up a bunch of purchased DVD movies with other tools and then burning with Nero. Usually I backup just the movies, not the extras. What I want to know is if I can take a completed movie, and then create my own menu basically to start the movie, or give chapter list? Any insight would be greatly appreciated.

Sure.
You'd simply rip the movie - demux the vob's using vobedit
make your menu in dvd menu studio - using buttons / text for your linking - render your menu and overlay
then with your demuxed streams you'd have to re-author the dvd in an authroing program
render out your TS directories and burn.
see mediachance.com (I think that's there site) for how to make the overlays and menus~~~Spidey~~~
