  2. THE SOLUTION TO ALL YOUR PROBLEMS!!!!!!!!!!!

Just use the FOURCC changer from the Xvid codec pack!!!!
Put in both fields DivX and hit APPLY.(and not divx3 or anything else!!!!)
Now you can encode as usual with NO quality loss!
I have experience in encoding for a couple of years now, and believe me,
I know what I`m talking about. Forget all the guides with environmental changes in TempGenc. etc. Just do what I wrote above and all your XviD problems are gone.
Btw. use the ffdshow codec pack instead of Nimo (Nimo sucks!)

Any questions regarding encoding: mail me and I`ll try to help!!!!!!

  6. Rite i sorted it my self this should work for you 2 @ discopaul

Open tmpgenc then you have to go into options > environmental settings, select the VFAPI plugin tab and put the DirectShow multimedia file reader at the top of the list. (priority 1) then close down and then tmpgenc shouldn't give you an error message anymore.

That worked for me fixed it me self just playing around hehe

    ACK!!!!

    M'kay.

    1) Use the 4cc Changer and make the audio and video say divx

or 2) In TMPG enviromental settings, make the FFDShow filter a 2 and everything else a 0, then XviD will encode piece of cake.

    3) Can't encode the audio? What audio? Use GSpot to identify the audio. More than likely it's AC3 or VBR mp3. Neither of which TMPG will deal with. Read any number of guides for AC3 or VBR audio and TMPG (typically you do the audio seperately, using VDUB and Besweet, and maybe Headache for AC3).

    4) Codec packs are EVIL, Nimo codec pack in particualr is very EVIL! Install just what you need (GSpot will tell you the codec).

Or Goldwave for both MP3-VBR and AC3 audio. Load the Avi in Goldwave and save, simple.
