  1. I'm trying to convert an AVI file to dvd that i can play on my sony DVP NS300 dvd player, using TMPGEnc version 2.510.49.157, nero version 5.5.10.28,and a Sony DW-U10A to burn the disc. the size of the AVI MPEG Layer-3 file is 696 mb, bit rate131 bps, Frame rate 23 frames/second Data rate 120 kbps and the discs i am using are Datawrite Classic DVD-R.
Can anyone please give me a step by step run through on how to burn the disc or suggest any other software i can use.

    many thanks

theres loads iof tutorials on this site (LOADS) its a great site . Personally i dont use nero to burn dvd's (heard bad things bout it) This is what i do.
    1) Convert the video to Mpg using tmpgenc
    2) Use the Mpg in Ulead DVD Movie Factory. (A greate n00b program easy to create chapters menus etc. )
    3) Out put the dvd to an Iso (a little feature at the end of ulead)
    4) Use DVD Decryptor to burn that iso to a dvd-r

Its all in this site if you need help with tmpgenc
