I have a problem converting my files. I am currently trying to convert a 1080i HDTV mpeg to 720p Windows Media9. I am doing this by frameserving the mpeg so windows media 9 encoder can read it. I have to compress it because it does not play back smoothly when i open the mpeg. The problem is that when my dad use DVD2AVI then VFAPI the resulting file is all brown with a slight hint of what the actual image is supposed to be. The strange thing is is that on my computer It works fine but I currently live nowhere near my dad so I was only able to do a small test file and am not able to download the 9 gigs of data to compress for him. All the software I used is exactly the same as it is installed on his computer. Please help, I am trying to get this done for a trade show next week. TIA

is this a transport stream ? non the less you may be each using a different mpeg2 codec to decode the hd file ..

thats what i thought, but it turns out my dad figured it out hopefully, the dvd2avi file has an ini, it said to change a value to 5 if you have a p4, he did, that screwed things up.
