  1. here i am again with another problem.

I have d/l some AVI files and DIVX files

i have followed the guides to encoding these to svcd.

i have been using TMPEG and at first i done a sample 5 mins to try and see if ok when i play on WMP i just get lines. The audio seems fine, i did that with V dub.

i have seen that nero converts for you it is worth just using that, i would rather do it the Tmpeg way.

If somebody could help or point me in the way of another proggie and tutorial i would be most grateful

Windows Media Player can't play svcd(mpeg2) if you haven't installed a mpeg2 codec or a software dvd player.
www.dvdrhelp.com/play#svcd , I would recommend either windvd or powerdvd for svcd and dvd.

If that is not the problem, tell us what settings you used in tmpgenc, could you see the video if you used the preview(file->preview).
