    If the audio is VBR-MP3 or AC3 then I always use Goldwave to extract the wav. As you discovered, Virtualdub won't do it (p_I is off base on this one). Just load the Avi in Goldwave then save. 8)

    Works for me, as in Baldrick's guide. What version of VDub are you using? I'm using 1.4.9. If you want an uncompressed wav, under Audio, choose Full Processing Mode and make sure that under Compression, you've selected <No Compression (PCM)>. If your version of VDub is giving you a hard time, you might want to try VDub MP3 Freeze.
