    If I have vcd Files to convert and i want to keep at my harddisk so i require a video format which quality of video and audio are ok and more using less space(small size) like for audio was mp3 , what is the format i should convert : Avi , Dixv
    Asf or mpg because now was ".dat" format

    I think you are asking what format is smaller to use for storing movies on your hardrive...

    DivX MPEG-4 is the best for storing/sending high quality-looking video and maintaining a small filesize as compared to MPEG-1 or MPEG-2... MPEG-4 has the file extension of AVI, I think the reason is because microsoft took over the MPEG-4 development and branded it with their logos and their proprietary format... I could be wrong however, not sure. But definitely, DivX is the best to use for storing.
