Hi,
I capture straight to mpeg2 from tv, and when i playback the video, the audio is fine. However, when i try to author a dvd from those files, the audio just refuses to be in sync, it's always ahead of the video(read: audio stream is shorter). I've tried demultiplexing and changing the length to match the video length using both Vegas 4 and virtualdub(fram rate change). I think there might be something screwed up on the end of the audio stream that makes the dvd authoring program think it's shorter than it really is. I've been recording with Powervcr II on DVD(4000kbps and mpeg2 audio 224kbps) profile. Has anyone else had the same problem or any ideas about how to fix it?
Thanks, this has been consuming me for the past few weeks.

Have you done any reencoding before autho?
Don't give in to DVD2ONE, that leads to the dark side. -
i've tried both with reencoding and just using the original file in the authoring programs. both of them produce audio streams shorter than the video stream
