I'm ultimately trying to convert a .tivo file to a .mp4...(since I dont thinnk there is anyway to do that while keeping its original resolution-tivo desktop only converts it for ipod w/ 320x240)....I'm using this guide to convert it to mpeg2 (w/ a .mpg extension) http://www.basementnerd.com/tivo.htm

all goes well with that...but when I try to convert the .mpg to mp4 (im using Super to do that)...the audio is slighty out of sync...and it gets a little worse a bit of the ways iinto the show

does anyone know the apporpriate codecs and settings (bit rate, fps, etc..) to use w/ super to sucessfully convert an mpeg2 to an mp4 ..w/ out any audio sync issues??

here are the specs of my .mpg file

    Video : 1.54 GB, 3700 Kbps, 29.970 fps, 480*480 (1.0:1), = Elecard MPEG-2 Video
    Audio : 82 MB, 192 Kbps, 48000 Hz, 2 channels, 0x50 = Mpeg-1 audio Layer 2 (MP2)

    any suggestions/help would be appreciated
    thx

"Fix" the mpg with Videoredo using the quickstream fix before you convert it. I guess you can try run it through pvastrumento or projectx also if you are looking for free tools.
