Hi, I recorded some movies from cable on the panasonic dmr-e50 settop recorder to dvd-r...
I want to make a copy of that disk with my panasonic 521 dvd burner(pc)...what are some good software titles that will make a perfect copy of the movie dvd-r's I record from the tv,, or any dvd-r's that I make, that are not copy protected, macrovisioned or anything...i.e. also I put vhs tapes I recorded via camcorder of my daughter up and encode to mpg2 and made a moviedvd of them...how do I back them up? what softwares are good for that?
I tried veritas recordnow...it did ok, but had a couple read errors....and the movie was ok except at the end where the errors were and it was choppy...
Again these are not movies with copy protections, but dvd's I burned at home. The disk to disk in recordnow is mainly for data disks and computer progs right? thanks...t

using disk to disk should be ok but you could also use dvd decrypter to make an iso then burn it back again.

I've used RecordNow DX to make D2D copies of my Backup DVDs with good success.

Yeah but DVD Decrypter is freeware
1) Run DVD Decrypter, choose "mode | iso read"
2) Make copy an image on the DVD/R disc to your HD
3) Choose "mode | iso write", select the image file and burn
There are guides (with pictures) of this process if you click to the left under DVD Rip. -
I agree with "thingimijig"
Use DVD decryptor in ISO mode. (quick and easy)
If it has read errors then you have a problem with your source DVDs.
