  1. Almost every movie that I try to convert from Xvid to Mpeg using TMPGE crashes. IS there a "special" way to convert Xvid that is any different than when converting divx?

    Thanks in advance

  4. What are your methods for converting ?

When you say it crashes, how ?, what error message ?, in what program ?, are you frameserving ?, using tmpgenc ?, did you extract the audio ?

    More information please !!!

  5. what do i use:

    tmpgenc 2.510.49.57 Pro
    tmpgenc 2.511 evaluation

    settings:
http://dvd-hq.info/Calculator.htm is the site i use to determen the settings i need but basic it will be a two pass encoding without the audio.

    codec:
    XviD-04102002-1 _ALPHA_ Release

i hope this helps.. When i get the coding to mpeg2 do the dvd will play fine but most of the xvid will not encoded for me with tmpgenc.. after running 24 hours i still got no m2v file and the counter of tmpgenc is still telling me there is 6 hours encoding left.. but thats is what is started with..

ok personally i think XVID movies are easier to convert than DIV3. ok all you do is open a program called AviC(four CC changer) and you open up your XVID.AVI and then you change it to DIVX on both boxes and then you put quit. this takes about 1 second. now you can try that and put it in Tmpeg or CCE and you shouldnt have a problem, but if in case you do use GoldWav to extract the audio and combine the video and audio using VDUB. and then you shoulnt have any problems with syncness or anythign
