How do I add "effects" to video clips and make "startup" clips. "Effects" like video branding, so people know that I made that clip as its playing.
And "startup" clips like the THX clip on DVD's

Just get some video editing software like Sonic Foundry's Vegas Video or Video Factory, then you can add opening titles and transparent overlays through the video.

or if you want to get your feet wet, you can look for MovieXone, Zwei-Stein or ABC Video Roll - all freeware, do a Google search and dig a little you should find them for download.

there's also a Magix video editing software, aimed at office presentation people, I think they've discontinued it because I found the deluxe version at Office Depot for $10 - it has basic effects, compositing, chroma key, titling, etc.etc....

I think it's called Magix Audio Video. I'll double check when I get off work...

VirtualDub will do this too.

As a side issue, I should point out that this kind of 'branding' or 'watermarking' is almost universally despised by viewers!
