  1. Just wonder how good is Roxio DVD Builder is compare to the others. I mean is there any quality differences? Or is it just features? Do you recommend this? Im finally starting to convert some of my mom's vhs to dvd and just want to know what's the best author/buring tool is to use.

  3. I wasn't particularly happy with it when I tried to use it. I had re-encoded an SVCD to DVD, and it insisted that the final video would be too long to burn (even though the MPEG was only like 2 GB) because it was nearly 2 hours. It insisted that the resultant DVD would be around 5 gigs, and wouldn't even let you try to burn. This may or may not have been fixed in additional patches.

The more troubling thing is that once you load in more than 1 - 1.5 GB of video, it seems to have trouble editing. When you try to skip to the "center" of a video, it takes a looooong time to start playing from that point and the audio is completely off sync. So if you are trying to split the video or set chapter stops, it is completely hopeless because it is impossible to tell whether you are setting the split where the video is or where the audio is.

If you aren't completely broke, I would definitely recommend a $50 program to get the job done. If you haven't bought Easy CD 6 yet, then you are far luckier than me

  4. I've been using it recently and love it for one major reason - it's the first system I've found that allows capture from my Dazzle DVC II all the way through to the final product, the DVD.

It's easy to use although very basic, but that's fine in my book as I don't really want the complications of lots of fancy effects. My copy was pirated so I had no manuals, and despite that I was able to produce a DVD with lead in short video, menu for several short video files complete with backgriound music. As a result I've actually placed an order for an official copy of the software.javascript:emoticon('')

  5. Yeah, the interface is actually pretty good and very easy to follow. If it worked as good for me as some others say it does for them, I would probably use it.
