I found this way the easiest way to split a dvd to 2 dvd-r. I like to split very long movies to 2 dvd's to keep quality. (like lord of the rings, over 2 hours) I have a 65" hdtv and you can notice the quality if you compress a movie over 5.5 gb.
1. Rip all movie files with DVD Decrypter
2. Run DVD Toolbox and select to strip what you don't want (I take away all subtitles and foreign languages) Then Select split dvd. Then hit next and you will then get a screen to select which chapter you can select to split the movie. It will then create a subfolder d:\lord of the rings\dvdtoolbox\disk1\disk2. Then delete video_ts.ifo, video_ts.bup, and video_ts.vob. Leaving the movie .vob files and one vts_01_0.ifo file.
Then run infoedit 95 or 91 and open first dvd vts_01_0.ifo file. Everything but remux, rebuild PTS, split to 2 DVD, and remove iivu Angle point should be Checked. Select a destination dir and hit Strip it. An error will pop up ignore it and hit ok (it will create new ifo files and change vob information) When finished shut down ifoedit and reopen infoedit. Click open and goto your new created files for disk 1, and open the 1st file of 2 and click Get vts Sectors, then open 2nd file and click on Get vts Sectors. Then close infoedit
Then burn your dvd disk 1 and two with either Nero or any other software that will burn video_ts folders.
Dvd toolbox can also add instert disc 2 at the end of first dvd.
