Hello, I've captured(digitized) onto my harddrive using Sonic MYDVD. My finished files are 4-5 gig and won't fit onto the 4.7 gig disc. How can I shrink them down to fit? I joined a couple of clips of mpeg together using SHOWBIZ which does reduce their size, but the audio isn't in sinc with the video so I won't use that file made.

Sonic MYDvd converts all the audio to uncmpressed PCM which massivley increases the file size. Use an alternative authoring app that accepts mp2 or Ac3 audio. If you captured in Sonic the audio may well be already PCM in whuch case you will need to convert it. There are several guides in the convert section that may be useful.

check your settings and see what kind of audio format is being used - some capture apps default to an audio setting that ends up adding huge amounts of data to the file needlessly.
if you can't adjust your capture settings, try reconverting with TMPGenc or using a different capture application.
last solution would be to author the dvd, disregarding filesizes, then use DVD2One or DVD Shrink to compress down to dvd-r size.
