I'm converting a divx file with 48000 hz audio (PCM) to a dvd compliant mpeg but for some reason after converting in TMPGenc the file has a lot of noise in the background. I'm using both ssrc and toolame and have tried it without either but the sound still comes out the same. Anyone know what's happening and what can be done about this?

Did you extract the audio before using it to convert to the new video?

Yes i saved it a wav in virtualdub. You know come to think of it the overrall sound volume is louder on my reencode than it is on the source so no wonder I hear more noise. Is this normal?
