  1. I have two MPEG's on my computer e(ach is about 720 MB) that I would like to burn onto a CD/R to play on my APEX AD-500W DVD player. I know it will play Video CD's, but how do I get the MPEG's onto a CDR in the right format.

    Any help much appreciated....!

  2. MULTIPLE EXPLETIVES DELETED!

That player will play practically anything round with a hole in it. If the brightly colored, highlighted guides and how-to's on the left are not enough, and considering you have given no info whatsoever other than a possibility the files are MPG, and also considering my crystal ball is broken today, I can only suggest you do some reading.

For future consideration, consider providing :
What resolution? What source? Created how? Type of source? Bitrate? Length of movie? Type of PC system? Software available? Steps taken to date?

I may be a little crabbier than average today, but for crying out loud, have you made ANY effort whatsoever to educate yourself?

Try here first, esp. the first one, to convert an mpeg into VCD compliant mpeg: https://www.videohelp.com/convert.htm#vcd

Then this, scroll down to author and burn a compliant mpeg to VCD/SVCD: https://www.videohelp.com/author

  4. Get VirtualDubMod, this will supply the needed info.

How do you KNOW they are MPEG - If just by file description and extension, these do not guarantee anything. I have dl'd several ".mpg" files that were actually DIVX.

IF the files are VCD or SVCD or CVD compliant (definitions to the left), then all you need to do is burn to a CD. Select "non-compliant" in NERO or other burning program to avoid re-encoding.

When I checked your profile, it was blank.

I do not consider suggesting further self-education to be insulting.

You need to know if the files are compliant, in order to determine that you need to know what a compliant file is. I have the same model APEX and really, all you have to do is select VCD or SVCD in NERO, "non-compliant", and burn. You may need to demux, apply pulldown, and remux, or it may need a resize, letterbox, and re-encode. These are not generally necessary to make it PLAY, but only to make it play PROPERLY. Again, that player will play almost anything.

If some of the above terms are unfamiliar to you, I'm back to the original suggestion.

I guess my annoyance results from the fact that I cannot understand how you could POSSIBLY have read more than one or two of the relevant guides, looked up and done a forum search on your player, spent some time reading, and still have asked the question in that way.
