HI, this my first time posting.

so, i recently got an MP4 and it is iriver E100, 8GB. I can't get the videos that i put on there to play, it just keeps on saying "file format not supported!". There are samples on there and the format is AVI, i think, and it plays perfectly well! The file format of my videos are MPEG layer 3 (video clip), and it can't play on my MP4 whatsoever! On the box of the MP4, it says for video, it supports MPEG4 SP, WMV9 SP, XVID SP (max. 30fps). I was wondering if i could convert the format from MPEG layer 3 to MPEG4 SP, and how?

THANKYOU in advance! I would really appreciate if someone helped me! I really want it to work!
    THANKYOU again!

mpeg layer 3 is probably the audio format(mpeg 1 layer 3 = mp3). Identify the video and audio codecs with mediainfo or gspot in your video files and the sample files and post it here.

I would try convert using xvid4psp or autogk and convert to avi with xvid and mp3 audio. Be sure to use the max resolution that the iriver supports(Read the manual or GOOOGLE), I would guess around 320x240.
