Ever since installing xp on my machine, I have had a strange problem with video. When I try to play a video the systems locks up for about 20-40 seconds, then plays the video. This is completley unacceptable. According to Microsoft, the problem is my video card's drivers, I have a Nvidia TNT2 64 pro video card. I downloaded the upgrade drivers for xp but I still have the problem. The only time I don't have the problem is when I go into video options, turn off write combining and take the acceleration all the way down. But this results in sub par video quality. Any Ideas?

Why not simply get a new video card. You can up much better cards than the one you have for 50 dollars or so. Even a modern 20-30 dollar card would play video better than that.

Yeah, I've been thinking about that. I am also in the market for a capture card so, I'm thinking about springing for the ATI all in wonder.
