  1. Sup ppl,

I am having problems opening a movie from tmpgenc. Im trying to convert American Beauty (DivX).avi and everytime i try to load it, it keeps popping up saying: File: "C:\documents and settings\B.K\My Documents\Movies\American Beauty DivX.avi" ca not open or unsupported. Can anyone tell me what that means???

    Thanks a million!!!

    Open TMPGENC.

Under Options Menu goto Environmental Setting.

Under Environmental Setting goto VFAPI plug-in.

Under VFAPI plug-in - set DirectShow Multimedia File Reader to priority 1 or even 2.

    This should solve your problem...Huyzel

  6. Dark604,

It may be possible that you are missing an A/V codec that is contained within the avi. Run it through Gspot (here in the Tools section) and find out what codecs it uses just to make sure you have them. May contain AC3 audio which if you dont have the codec will cause TMPGenc to not work.

  7. If Gspot doesn't work, run it through AVICODEC. You can get it from the tools section also.
