  1. I have an opportunity to do a DVD multimedia for a Pro organization. The requirements are sketchy but they want history then to now, slide show presentation might be put in, total length 60 minutes to 120 minutes. What I want to charge might be over the top but I want to go a good job in a short period of time They need it by mid May. Give me some input

  2. First item is very simple but a key item you can never ever mess up on or the project is doomed to fail! Simply make sure both "YOU" and the "CLIENT" have a "VERY SOLID" understanding of what is to be done. If you cant arive at this then "WAVE OFF!" A simple story board or a writted step by step should work. If the client does not know what they want or you have no clue on what is required then how do you know you can do if for X money in Y amount of time? A fuzzy idea will make for a fuzzy lackluster project.

If a mid May is the date then a high cost is not too far out of line. But is depended on exactly how much work is nessary to fullfill the project requirements. And from your post no one knows this!

Plan on one very early pass even if rough to verify with the client the "Is this it?"

Also plan on some time to test the final item. Never short change this!

Also do you have enough tools and skills to do a good job? It takes both to make it work! This is not the time to "learn as you go". If you dont have the nessary skills say so. Its easer to say cant at the start then blow time and money and say at the end cant do. Basically dont promiss what you cant keep.

    Good Luck!

PS: OOPS forgot the two other key rule. K.I.S.S. ! Keep it simple stupid! and Backup Backup and backup!
