My frames are all screwed up

I recorded some video from tv using a Panasonic DMR-HS2 stand alone dvd recorder. I then imported the dvd into my computer and am trying to use the VFAPI virtual codec to edit vob files as though they are avi files. I am editing with ADOBE PREMIER and my goal it to edit the captured video and export it to video tape.

Things are working well, but when I export the video to my vcr everything is very jumpy. The video looks very smooth on my computer screen, and when exported to my DV camera. But once I try and copy from my dv camera to my VCR things get jumpy.

I figure this is an interlacing/progressive problem. I have played with a bunch of settings in Adobe Premier to try and fix the problem.

Attached to this post is a picture of a frame taken from Adobe Premier. Can someone tell me how to fix things so that the video does not look so jumpy when played back on my VCR??

It looks like I was playing with the wrong settings in premier. I was playing with the project settings. I needed to adjust the clip settings.

I chose to "deinterlace" each of the clips by right clicking on them and choosing the video options.

This seems to have helped greatly.

Also make sure that the fields value in the exported footage is set correctly as well. This should be upper, lower or none. This should match the field value in the original footage.
