  1. Help
I am just trying my to build my first computer on my own with a limited knowledge.
Instaled everything to hand but the power is not kicking in.When i press the on button on the front of the pc there is a yellow light on the motherboard comes on but the fans dont kick in and no boot sequence.Im sure its something basic but im not sure the procedure. The power supply does work it came from another pc as did the graphics card and cpu and fan.Infact the only new piece of hardware are the memory and motherboard.
Please help with what to do next.

    Are your jumpers set correctly?

Did you get rid of any static before touching the components?

Do you see the post screen?

Ive had a problem like this before but the psu was fried. I bought a new one and it worked. Are you using the right CPU for that motherboard?

    What memory are you using?
Check you've not installed it the wrong way (I don't mean upside down), as you won't get anything from the monitor if you have.
Post back when you solve it.
