I am having trouble capturing from Ulead Movie Factory 2, movie maker 2, and pinnacle 8. I can capture no problem with Video Wave 4, without changing any settings or hardware. Pinnacle told me I need to reconnect my 1394, but I have never messed with it. I recall Medal of Honor game having a conflict with it and I don't recall how I resolved it, but I did. In my left side of my taskbar I have a monitor with an X in it, It involves my network capability, I have no need to network, but is that the problem. I am capturing from 8mm camcorder and sometimes a vcr with my dazzle box. It's all Dell so who knows. I have a digital camcorder on the way, will that solve anything. Thank You in advance.

I think the whole combination of Ulead Pinnacle and Dazzle is your problem, all of those products are known to have major issues and compatability problems with computers as well as with each other. I would have to reccomend if you have to use them, only have 1 installed on your system and get rid of the other ones, it is most likely a conflict between the programs. I would also try to pull out your firewire card, then remove it from the system properties, then try to re-install it in a diffrent PCI slot if you have one available, but only do this after you have uninstalled the other software. I would also reccomend getting a program called RegCleaner to get rid of all the registry entries for all those programs.

Basically just start over, uninstall all the programs, get rid of all the registry entries, and remove your firewire card. Then install the firwire card in a diffrent slot, install 1 of the programs to capture with and see if that doesn't fix the problem.
