  1. I have tried to wirte the movie animal to a cd at 16x on my burner the movie plays fine in windows media palyer and when i do the nero thing it encodes it for about 2 hours or so but it never writes to the cd it just finishes i even used TEMgenc to convert the avi to mpeg 1 and then used never and nero converted it for me anyway and still the same problem that it encodes and never writes to the cd it doesnt even give me an error message or anything.

Does anyone have any idea what it is or what might be wrong?

  2. I can't help you but I TOO have had this problem w/ Nero 5.5. It happened to me when I tried to load an avi file into nero. Nero complained saying this is not compliant should I convert it or cancel. I said convert. It converted and looked like it was going to write but seemed to be just doing a simulation burn! After it was finished no burning was done. I think judging from your experience also this might be a bug. Here is a suggestion for you. I found a way around this problem. Here is what I did. In nero find the temp directory for temp files that it is using. After trying to burn w/ nero and the program ends the temp file was still in the temp directory. I think I had to rename the file but you should be able to find it because it will be obvious by the file size. Another thing is when nero is done trying to write do NOT close nero when searching for the converted mpeg in the temp directory. I believe nero erases it after closing. You need to copy it elsewhere first. Anyway... My point is that after I got the MPEG which was converted by nero from the temp directory I was able to use THIS file as the file to burn on my CD and nero accepted it and did write the CD! I know this is a pain in the A** but it did work for me. Maybe someone else knows a better solution!

  4. I am at work now so I can't browse the program settings to figure out where it stores it. I Think but am not positive that you can find the 'FOLDER' location under I think options or maybe it's preferences. I can't quite remember. Try looking through all the menus at the top. One DOES specify the location of the temp files. It is a folder on your hard drive yes. You may even be able to change it to a diferent folder. I don't think it was windows/temp but you may want to try there. You may also want to look under nero's directory on your hard drive. I know it exists because I did get the mpeg from a temp directory. I hope this helps!
