  1. Hi!

I'm trying to synchronize the audio and video of a movie using "the audio gap corretion" in TMPGenc, but I just can't work it out.

When I've encoded the movie without any audio gap correction the audio is a few minute before the video so i need to change that somehow.
I've tried the following settings with very little difference between them:
    -2,-4,-6,+2, +4, +6.
Does anybody know what the setting should be in "audio gap correction"?
Please help me to sort out this frustrating problem.

  2. The audio is only a few seconds before the video, not a few minutes.

Audio gap correction is used if the audio is out of sync by the same amount from the start of the movie to the very end. The amount you enter is in milliseconds (0.001sec.) so the numbers that you have been using are so small that you don't notice any difference. So, if you want one second of adjustment then you must enter 1000. Positive numbers start the audio sooner and negative numbers delay it.

The only way to get it exact, that I know of, is trial and error. View the video and estimate how much you need, encode a small 2 minute clip and test, go back and adjust. A clip with a door closing or the like is usually good.

    Good luck! 8)
