  1. Hi people!

Is there a simple way without re-encoding that can change the identification of an interlaced SVCD to progressive so that DVD players (e.g. PowerDVD) won't play the file with 'Bob' on-the-fly deinterlacing but with 'Weave' ? (Bob is automatically used for interlaced videos while Weave is for non-interlaced ones)

I want to do this because my SVCD was properly deinterlaced and is really progressive in nature. it was just accidentally tagged interlaced during encoding.

The bob deinterlacing makes unneccessary quality degradation and i would really like to avoid that.

    Any suggestions?

    Thanks in advance.

You can use either Restream or Pulldown.exe to do this. If you use pulldown I recommend you get the gui.

You will first have to demux, run the video stream through the program, then remux again.

  3. Thanks a lot. The pulldown.exe works perfectly for me but Restream doesn't.
