I just converted DV source to DVD using Nero Vision. I am very disappointed with the result, totally blocky and horrible. Not worth anything.
Why would such a reputable company releases such a bad product ?.

Nero is not known for its converter, but rather its burner. Its a great burner. Just convert with TMPGEnc. Then burn with Nero. Don't allow Nero to re-encode.

I agree. Nero is an excellent burner software package, but it's not for the beginner. It doesn't come with easy glitzy interfaces like Easy CD Creator. It has a basic wizard, with very tweakable settings underneath for overburn, excellent new burner support (far better than Easy CD), and a very nice toolset for CD imaging in general. It also gets the job done, with no coasters once you know how to use it.
Impossible to see the future is. The Dark Side clouds everything...
